Dodge TOTERHOME Trailer Hauler 22K Miles!!
$10,000.00
DESCRIPTION- This toterhome was built for a well known custom car shop right here in GA. ( GODFATHER CUSTOMS ) I have all of the original paperwork on this Dodge, right down to the window sticker. This vehicle started out as a 1995 Dodge Ram3500HD cab-chassis 2wd with factory straight front axle. It was purchased at Jerry Duncan Dodge in Dayton, TN. The truck was immediately transported to Bruce Litton Custom Trailers in Indianapolis, IN where the toterhome body was custom made & fitted to this truck. The truck was then delivered to Godfather's & used to haul an 8.5 X 48 enclosed trailer to custom car shows & other related events all around GA. I was told that this rig was only used for small events where their semi was not called for. This would explain the extremely low mileage of 22,837. The toter was sold by Godfather's to a local man in July of 2004. At that time there were 18,617 miles on the home. Having only put 4,000 miles on this vehicle in 6 years, you can tell that the man never used it. This high quality hauler has just been sitting in an RV storage lot. I recently took it in on trade for a wicked 55 Chevy pro-street car. I totally serviced the truck from one end to the other (fluid & filter changes, lubed the chassis, serviced the cooling system, etc..). I also installed 6 brand spanking new GoodYear E rated 10-ply radial tires to the tune of $1200 since the others had dry rotted from sitting. All of this has been done in the last 30 days. I have decided to get out of the street rod business & no longer need the toterhome. So here is your chance to own a very nice, very well built, very expensive hauler for an unbeatable price! This toterhome cost in the neighborhood of $120,000 to build when it was new. With only 22,837 miles, this is still a brand new vehicle. Sure, it needs some cosmetic tlc due to age & inactivity. The exterior needs a good acid wash to rid the white paint of the stains you can see in the pictures. There are a few minor dings in the siding of the box. Some of the interior wallpaper is curling up on the edges due to age. Just minor little things. There are no roof leaks. No rot. Everything is still nice & tight. This is a life long Southern vehicle so there is no rust. Mechanically this truck runs & drives like brand new! The truck only has 22k miles. The Onan generator only has 25 hours! This hauler was not used much!

TOTER CONVERSION- This conversion was professionally done. The box was designed & constructed specifically for this vehicle. The frame was extended for this application, making the wheelbase 208in from center of the front hub to center of the back hub. The main box has an overall length of 8ft. The over cab sleeper is an additional 3ft in length. The rear deck is 6ft 6in in length. Overall width of this conversion is 8ft. Overall height of the box (from the bottom edge of the basement to the top edge of the roof) is 8ft 6in. Rear deck height at the rear axle is 3ft even. This toterhome body is covered with white painted aluminum sheeting, just like you would find on any enclosed car trailer or toterhome body. There is also plenty of polished aluminum trim. The deck is covered with polished aluminum diamond plate. Overall length of this vehicle is 24ft, bumper to bumper.

Along either side you will find basement storage accessed by 4 doors. All the doors are lockable & fitted with gas dampaners. There are also 3 oval shaped windows on each side of this box. Access is granted through a rear RV style door, complete with inner screen door. There is a recessed staircase incorporated into the right side of the rear deck. The rear access door makes for easy trailer hook-up since the driver simply has to open the rear door & slide the rear truck cab curtain aside to have a full veiw of the rear deck. This design makes trailer hook-up a one person job. Most toters do not have this invaluable feature.

The interior was laid out to provide the most sleep / lounging area possible. As you open the rear access door you see a louvered door to your left & another to your right. Behind the right door you find closet space. Behind the left door you find a bathroom, complete with chemical toilet which appears to have never been used. As you pass between these doors you find yourself in the main body of the rig. To your right is a dinette booth which converts to a bed. To your left you find a long couch which doubles as a bed. Straight ahead is yet another couch / bed. Directly over that is a curtain. Behind the curtain is access to the cab of the truck itself. Directly over the cab access curtain is the overhead sleeper area complete with mattress. All of the interior cushions were custom made for this toter body. All are covered in charcoal gray leather-like vinyl. All are in like new condition. The inside walls & ceiling are covered with RV type paneling. I see no water damage but as I said above, the wallpaper is peeling in places. The floor is carpeted. Interior ceiling height is 6ft 4in.

Though Godfather's didn't opt to finish this toter out with kitchen or full bath, the box was designed to accept these options. Simply remove the couch along the left wall & there is ample room for a kitchen, complete with countertop, sink, microwave, mini-fridge & overhead cabinets. Underneath the cabinets would be space for food storage & a standard 6 gallon RV hot water heater. The bathroom was designed to house a shower / toilet combo. The walls are already finished for shower use. Simply ad the unit & a little minor plumbing. Underneath the rear deck is empty space left specifically for waste water tanks. On the side of the rear deck is a door to provide access to tank valves etc..

I planned to enclose the over cab sleeper area to house a home entertainment center.

All of these additions were expected by the designers of this conversion. These upgrades should be a straight forward task that any RV shop can take care of quickly.

If you were to make all of the above upgrades this hauler, I feel you could still sleep 2-3 adults comfortably or 1-2 adults & 2-3 children.

But...it works fine just the way it is!

OPTIONS- This toterhome is equipped with a top of the line Onan MicroQuiet 4000 watt generator. Which, according to the hour meter, has only had 25 hours of use. Generator function can be controlled by a switch panel inside the living compartment or at the unit itself. There is also a 12 circuit breaker box to handle power from the generator or from the shore power hook-up. There is a deep cycle battery in the rear box, in addition to the truck batteries. This battery is used to power the 12V living quarter lights when not hooked to shore power. There is a built in battery charger wired into the breaker box. When the generator is running or you are hooked to shore power, this charger tops off all the batteries in the vehicle. There is a roof mounted RV air conditioning unit complete with heat. This unit works great! It will heat or cool the living quarters very quickly.

I have a receipt from a well known 4wd custom shop here in GA. It seems that not long after the toter was built, a complete suspension upgrade was done. The truck now has dual Rancho steering stabilizers. Heavy duty front control arms. Heavy duty front coil springs. Rancho RS9000 gas adjustable shocks with Rancho urethane isolator shock mounts, front & rear. Along with added rear leaf springs. This upgraded suspension makes for a very stable ride. Very smooth, even when pulling a loaded 44 foot trailer!

DODGE RAM3500HD- The truck itself is just like new. It is the HD model & as such it built far stonger than a standard 3500 series dually. The most noticable difference is the straight front axle which makes for a far more stable foundation. This vehicle is powered by the legendary 8.0 liter, 488 cubic inch, Magnum V-10. I know many of you were hoping for a Cummins diesel but don't knock the gas burner! These engines are very well suited fo this application. This V-10 is conservatively rated at 300hp @ 4000rpm & a big 450ft-lb of torque @ only 2400rpm! Both of these numbers are much stronger than a 5.9 Cummins diesel. Plus, this V-10 is far less noisy, far less smelly & way less expensive to service. The V-10 is much more responsive than the diesel. Keep in mind that this V-10 was not originally designed for use in the Viper, though it is the exact same engine. It was designed specifically for use in large Dodge chassis motorhomes. The Cummins was not strong enough for that application & was never used in a motorhome. The same is true for Ford. They never used a PowerStroke diesel in a motorhome. Instead you find a Triton V-10 gasoline engine in all of the huge Ford chassis RV's. I have owned dozens of Dodge diesels over the years. I have one of my Dodges listed in a separate auction here on eBay right now. If you'd like to see it, just click on the (see seller's other items) link at the top of this page. As much as I love a Cummins diesel, this V-10 is soooooo smooth, so very powerful & sooooooo quiet, I may convert! With only 22,000 miles, this is a brand new engine & runs as such. The transmission is the same Heavy Duty 5 speed manual you find in the diesel Rams. The very low 1st gear ratio will get the heaviest of loads rolling with no problem at all. Many of the toters you see are automatics. Why in the world would you want an automatic in a heavy haul vehicle? You need the manual transmision to assist in controlling the load on hills & in traffic. Every tractor trailer truck ever made is equipped with a manual transmission. It's a must have for safety. Plus the manual is going to last longer & give less problems. Not to mention increase fuel mileage. Again, only 22K miles makes this a new transmission & it shifts as such. The clutch feels perfect. The HD dual wheel rear end is also the same as a diesel dually. This one is equipped with the factory anti-spin differential & packed with 4:10 gears. The entire drivetrain was designed just for this type of application. Everything from one end to the other is still like new. The brakes look & operate just like new. The steering is as tight as a new truck, etc....

The truck cab is clean & totally rust free. I ran out of picture space on this listing or I would have posted some under cab shots. The paint underneath still looks like new. There are factory green chalk marks on several of the body mounts! All of the body panels are string straight. All of the panel gaps are uniform. All of the hinges & latches are still as tight as new. As with all Dodge pick-up in the 90's there are a few areas where the factory paint is peeling. These areas have been sprayed with touch-up paint at some point. Since it is white, it is not very noticable at all. The interior is extremely clean. Since this was a factory cab & chassis, it did not come with power window. Aftermarket power windows were installed when the toter conversion was done. They work great! The split bench seat has fully adjustable back rests & a fold down center console. The factory seat cover in like new. The dash is also in like new condition. All of the gauges & lights work as they should. The cab a/c is ice cold & the heat is toasty warm. This Dodge does have the SLT package & therefore has tilt steering, leather wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, intermittant wipers, am/fm cassette radio & full instrumentation. There are factory storage trays behind the seats. The rear cab window had been removed to allow access to the living quarters. Again, with only 22k in the odometer, this may as well be a new truck.

TITLE- I have a clean, clear, fully transferable GA title on this vehicle. It is titled as a Dodge RAM3500 so insurance will be affordable. The GVWR is 11000lb so it is far under CDL weight.
